Trezor Suite update June 2022

An update for Trezor Suite (version 22.6.5) is now ready to install. To download and apply the update, open Trezor Suite and follow the on-screen instructions. Changes included in this update are also listed in the release notes for this version.

Trezor Suite is free to use on desktop or browser at suite.trezor.io

Stay ahead of the curve and try out new features early by turning on Early Access through Application Settings in Trezor Suite. The next update will be sent to you a week ahead of the public release.

What’s new?

This month’s updates are focused on resolving some minor pain points in the user interface. By making it easier to use your Trezor, the overall user experience can better protect you from making common mistakes. In the meantime, we are working on some exciting bitcoin-related features.

Custom backend now favors connection over Tor

Connecting Trezor Suite to your own node just got simpler. If you have a node running over the onion router (Tor) and enable the Tor switch in Suite Settings, your backend connection will now automatically switch to using the onion address you provided in backend settings. For more information about adding custom backend connections, check out our blog Connecting your wallet to your own node.

Modals now feature an abort button

To help unify the user experience through Trezor Suite, all pop-up modal windows have been made to look cleaner and we have introduced an abort button in the shape of a large X, to make it easier to cancel any step taken in the app. Prior to this change, it was also possible to cancel actions by pressing Escape or unplugging your device, but making it more explicit will help remove any doubts when using Trezor Suite.

URI handlers for more coins

Opening Trezor Suite using a URI link is now possible for Bitcoin-related coins as well as Bitcoin. This is useful for merchant portals which may provide a link to pay in crypto. Clicking on the link will open Trezor Suite, and show a notification allowing you to automatically populate transaction details for whichever coin the payment is requested in. This also applies to QR codes containing URI links.

Zcash NU5 Support

Following the Zcash network upgrade at the beginning of June, Trezor Suite now supports NU5 (Network Upgrade 5) transaction types by default.
