Dear TREZOR Community,

We would like to thank you again for your continuous support and your faith in us. By collectively pre-ordering the TREZOR Model T in such an amount, you have repeatedly shown us that what we work for makes sense. We fully realize that our product helps to provide safer cryptocurrency management for many in the community. We do not take this responsibility lightly.

Certainly, pre-ordering a brand new, unreleased product like this one took a lot of trust, for which we are very grateful. We would like to return the favor by informing you about the state of the device and show you a few examples of the interface. So let’s get right into it!

Hardware

The hardware design of TREZOR Model T was already finalized before the product went into pre-order. We did not make any additional changes to the device: it will still feature a large color screen, along with a USB Type C female port. The micro SD slot will also be available.

Software

Our development team is thus entirely focused on the software part of the development — making sure TREZOR Core, the firmware of Model T, will be flawlessly ready when the device ships.

In the promotional video, you could have already seen how the PIN will be entered. You also had the chance to witness how a transaction has to be physically confirmed before it is signed and sent. We opted for “long press to confirm” to minimize the possibility of accidental approval.

However, in the next video, we are showing you something not public, thus far. Open it, and you will see how the recovery process for restoring your seed will work on the Model T. Thanks to its touchscreen, the seed input can be done through the device, yet the screen is not large enough to accommodate a full-size QWERTY keyboard. Instead, we will be using a T9-style keypad. As there are only 2048 seed words in the dictionary, the entry system can be predictive, making the recovery process much more comfortable, intuitive and seamless for any user.

Shipping Times

As January is fast approaching, many of you may be wondering when is your new device going to be shipped. Unfortunately, it seems that we will not be able to send the device in January 2018 as previously envisioned. We want to be certain that when you receive your TREZOR Model T, it will be tested, polished to the smallest detail, but most importantly, it will be safe and secure.

To ensure that, we will need more time for its development. The currently expected delay is one month; we hope to be able to send the device in February. We would like to sincerely apologize for the delay and thank you for your patience.

Thank you again for your unending support and patience. The TREZOR Team would like to wish you a Happy New Year! Enjoy a safe year of hodling ahead.
